Compatibility: Tested in CS6 – CC2018, should work in newer versions as well.

The After Effects 8 Bit template project will give your video and still images an 8 bit looking feel. This project file contains three builds, one each for 4K, 2K, and HD resolutions. All of them have custom controls to:

• Adjust the image contrast
• Toggle color on or off
• Define how wide or high the pixel blocks are
• Adjust threshold for Black & White, Red, Green, or Blue channels

Project file uses all stock plugins, and is After Effects CS6 or newer compatible.

Sample images and video are NOT included. You can however find the video of the woman in the sample video above at Hollywood Camera Work in their download section if you want free footage to experiment with.

Template works best with large details, and visuals that have a good amount of contrast between objects in the scene, or that have been isolated through roto or keying process. The woman sample video was on greenscreen which allowed for cleaner looking edges.
